Corporate House Takeover

Real People. Lost Places. Hidden Stories.

It all started with a conversation with my dad about a woman he once dated and the house where she lived. Curious, I decided to look up the property, only to discover that the house was no longer there.

What should have been a quick search turned into hours of digging through property records, historical maps, and newspaper archives. One discovery led to another, and I found myself uncovering stories about people, homes, and entire neighborhoods that had seemingly disappeared.

And that's how Corporate House Takeover was born.

As a REALTOR® with a passion for local history, I've always believed that every property has a story worth telling. But what happens to those stories when family farms become subdivisions, historic homes are demolished, or familiar businesses disappear to make way for something new?

This series explores the history behind Southwest Ohio's changing landscape. Through deeds, census records, newspaper archives, historic photographs, and aerial imagery, I trace properties back through generations to uncover what stood there before, who called it home, and what ultimately happened to it.

This isn't about opposing progress. It's about remembering what came before it.

Because behind every demolished house, forgotten business, and transformed neighborhood are real people whose stories deserve to be remembered.

I hope you enjoy this playful, sometimes feisty investigative series!
